Freedom is a myth.....We are all the time trying to wriggle free and are in search of the so called freedom!

What is the definition of freedom....

A saga of the so called freedom!!!!!

A state of being free or at liberty rather than in confinement or physical restraint.

This we do have to a certain extent.....cannot really deny.........

Exemption from external control, interference, regulation etc.

Do you believe in this??? We are controlled by our seniors, family members, rules, regulations, circumstances, social norms.......so where is the exemption from external control?

Ease or facility of movement in a country.

We do have this ....

Frankness of manner or speech.

This is nonexistent!!! We always have to consider what the other person will think if we say this and this is by default....we are trained to do this. We may not have a social circle and would be called arrogant and rude if we are frank. We will be called blunt, impertinent etc etc

Civil liberty

To a certain extent

Personal liberty as opposite bondage or slavery.

?????????????????????????

Many Q marks :):):) What is personal liberty? After answering many many questions or furnishing all the relevant information to the concerned people; you have a little of this...........

Freedom, independence, liberty refer to an absence of undue restrictions and an opportunity to exercise one's rights and powers.

Can we be totally free of restrictions. constraints and can we really exercise all our rights?

Freedom emphasizes the opportunity given for the exercise of one's rights, powers, desires, or the like: freedom of speech or conscience; freedom of movement. Independence implies not only lack of restrictions but also the ability to stand alone.

Powers come with responsibility so that automatically puts you to abide by rules regulations etc etc so power gives freedom is a myth again. Desire if you deserve is a phrase and then you have to prove yourself that you deserve this.....even if it is spending time all by yourself.....

Liberty, though most often interchanged with freedom, is also used to imply undue exercise of freedom: openness, ingenuousness.

Who decides due and undue? Some one judges you all the time and should we call it freedom?

In humans, the power or capacity to choose among alternatives or to act in certain situations independently of natural, social, or divine restraints. the power to exercise choice and make decisions without constraint from within or without; autonomy; self-determination.

Can anyone think without considering the social norms? What power or capacity grants you this kind of freedom to take decisions beyond the natural, social and divine restraints....this is a wordgame....juggling.....trying to fool people around the world with definitions...synonyms......a false sense of freedom. Are we really free of constraints from within? Are we autonomous? Everything is relative............we only have a false sense of autonomy, self sufficiency and sovereignty.

We are so used to be governed by the social norms and rules that we expect everyone to abide by it....we never think of freedom because it does not exist! We expect people to stand up to our expectations....we even judge ourselves if we were up to the mark....what mark, bar, standard do we talk about? You have to be OK in every body's eyes....it is all about being the best or near best......it is all about proving your worth to the world....and we say we are free? What a paradox!

Egypt

Egypt to me is a saga of death. Mystic, fascinating and ancient. The yellow sand, blue Nile and green palms...so uniquely refreshing.......with breathtaking landscapes. The Arabic music haunts you and the monuments take you you 5000 years back in history. The sphinx representing the intelligence of human beings while power of a lion. A civilization with the world famous Pyramids and huge temples.... every monument depicting their gods with bird or animal heads and every thing ultimately about death, mummification, treasures for life after death and the journey beyond.

It was my first trek in the Himalayas. Wow! It was awesome.......... A never before experience for me! At the Babeli base camp sitting on the banks of river Beas was something we all loved. We saw the fury of the rain god in the form of hail stones during the most difficult climb to Mayli thatch. All higher camps were amazingly picturesque.

At Segli camp our tents were pitched at a cliff and the sun set that we saw is unforgettable with the riot of colors in the west. Hora thatch..... the next camp was green........ among pine trees and tents pitched at different levels. The third higher camp Mayli thatch was surrounded by snow clad mountain peaks and Himalaya's glory made us all humble. Daura thatch was the highest camp at 12000 ft.with many glaciers and deep valley on one side.

The next day was fun with the climb to our dream destination....Saurkundi Pass. Saurkund was partly frozen and what a splendid sight.....peaks and ranges of Himalaya on all sides....... 360 degrees.......it was simply magnificent, majestic and breathtaking!

We did slides on glaciers to descend down....that was cool! Longa thatch our next camp was among trees with a view of snow clad mountain peak and the valley with small towns! The last camp Lekhni was a log house. The camp fire at Lekhni was very entertaining with skits, songs and mimicry. A memorable trek with family and many friends was like a dream come true.
